What is “Relevant Papers and Authors” and how do I use it?

Edited

When you run a topic search in Papers, a section called Relevant Papers and Authors appears beneath the search bar. It lists scholars who have engaged with IHS and have publications related to your query. Each card shows:

  • Author name (selecting the name filters the current results to only that author’s relevant papers)

  • Count of relevant papers for your search

  • View Profile (opens the author’s profile with all publications we have for them, not just the ones matched to this search)

  • Summarize (generates an Author Summary—a brief, AI-written note about the scholar and why they’re relevant to your current query)

Tip: If you’re scanning broadly, start with Summarize to understand an author’s connection to your topic. If you’re ready to go deeper, select the author’s name to see just their matched papers or View Profile to browse everything we’ve cataloged for them.
